Invitation to join us for two final community events before we take some time to reflect...
We have two special events coming up we want to invite you to - our intergenerational creative workshop with Jaspreet Kaur and our nature walk facilitated by LiLi Kathleen Bright!
A quick email from us to invite you to two events happening in March. These will be our last community events for a few months so we’d really love to see you there!
Nishma 💛
🌺 Prajanma - an intergenerational dialogue and creative workshop with Jaspreet Kaur
We’re excited to host Prajanma, a collaborative workshop with ‘Brown Girl Like Me’ author, Jaspreet Kaur! We hope to bring the community together across generations to focus on discovering and sharing our diverse experiences, identities and definitions of what “being brown” can look like today.
We will be anchoring a dialogue using the themes and extracts from Jaspreet’s book with the intention of co-creating a multi-media showcase to celebrate the expansive, contradictory and ever-changing nature of ‘being a brown girl.’
On 26 March, this Mother’s Day weekend, we’ll be coming together across generations to discuss our diverse experiences as South Asian women, in all its differences. Bring your mums, aunties, nanis, bijis or any other woman in your life!
The Self In Nature: root, nurture and bloom 🌱
We’re excited to host a nature walk to foster healing and connection. We know it feels overwhelming right now and want to offer a grounding space for our community to come together. This collective space in nature aims to support us in unlearning the idea that there is only one way to grow and, instead, foster healing in ways that best align with where we are at the present moment.
Using a blend of exploration, prompts and creative expression, we will spend time exploring the park, gathering things from nature and reflect through our senses, both individually and collectively, on what our minds and bodies are asking of us and telling us.
Date: Sunday 27th March 2022
Time: 2pm - 4pm GMT
Location: Battersea Park, SW11 4NJ
Most of our spaces, workshops and events are free but if you feel called to contribute to the community and invest in sustaining our work, please donate here.
